More Brits shopping for garden furniture, report suggests
06/10/2010 More and more Brits are paying attention to the plants and garden furniture which occupy their outdoor spaces, new research shows.
A report, due to be released by the Horticulture Trade Association (HTA), is expected to show the number of people visiting garden centres in the country is increasing, Horticulture Week reports.
Since 2004, the number of Brits visiting garden centres has increased by ten per cent, the Garden Industry Monitor Special report is thought to say.
This means that 62 per cent of Brits across all age ranges get inspiration from garden centres, compared to 52 per cent in 2006.
The full results of the report are due to be released at the HTA Garden Futures conference on October 13th.
If you're thinking about investing in a new garden furniture set, then now could be the ideal time.
The news provider reported recently that increasing costs for manufacturers and suppliers mean that prices are likely to increase in the coming months, and this will be coupled with the rise of VAT to 20 per cent in January.
