BBQ used to raise money for St Peter and St James Hospice

06/09/2010 A BBQ has helped to raise money for St Peter and St James Hospice which is located in the South Downs.

Over 200 people attended the event which was held in the garden of The Griffin Inn, reported.

Just over £5,500 was raised through ticket sales for the two-course meal.

The BBQ feast included a whole spit-roast pig, free range chicken, sardines and home -made burgers.

"We have had several very close friends spend their last days at St. Peter and St James and the loving care they received was quite amazing. In a small way we wanted to do something to repay the care they had received," Nigel and Bridget Pullan, owners of the Griffin, told the news provider.

Gas BBQs come in handy for fundraising events where tasty food is needed to be prepared for a gathering of people.

The hospice held its fourth annual Fun Family Picnic on Wednesday 4th August at Beech Hurst Gardens.
