Visit public spaces when looking for garden furniture inspiration
13/09/2010 If you're looking at purchasing a new garden furniture set, then it may be worth visiting some of the UK's great outdoor spaces for inspiration.
Speaking to The Scotsman, Lorraine Harrison, author of How To Read Gardens, said that a small bit of understanding about the different components of a garden can go a long way when it comes to designing an outdoor space.
Ms Harrison explained that many public gardens have a single theme, such as an "Islamic Courtyard garden or Japanese Zen", but often domestic gardens have more than one theme and are used for multiple purposes.
"Such gardens may have formal space, areas for playing games, for the production of fruit and vegetables, each fulfilling very different needs," she told the news provider.
A good outdoor space was also said to address "architecture, horticulture, history [and] design".
Once you've invested in making your outdoor space a desirable place to be, remember to insure your garden furniture set.
The MORE THAN Garden Theft study found that in many regions of the UK, the average value of garden furniture is around £350.
